GCSAP Volunteer How-to Guide
10 steps — from sign-up to submitting your day report. Save this page; you'll need it on your assigned day.

1. Sign up
On /gcsap: enter your name, district, qualification, job, WhatsApp, and a preferred date. One minute. Hit submit. You'll get an email confirmation within 1–2 working days.

2. Wait for date assignment
PISA HQ reviews and assigns you a specific date in October. The calendar on /gcsap updates to show your name. We try to match your preferred date but cannot guarantee it — there are 30 incharges for 30 days.

3. Get familiar with the dashboard
Two days before your turn you'll receive an email + dashboard reminder. Open /dashboard/gcsap to see 'Today's task' card. Practice the form once before your day so you're fast when it counts.

4. On your day — contact the group
Contact the GCSAP volunteer group on WhatsApp using the message template we sent. Count your attempts and successful contacts at the top of the form.

5. Log every activity (district-by-district)
Use the 'Add row' button. One row = one event/contact touchpoint. For each row enter: district, city, event name, type, attendees, notes, and (optionally) attach a photo. Photos of people need photo consent.

6. Photo tips (no privacy violations)
Avoid close-ups of children's faces unless you have written guardian consent. Wide event shots are usually fine. Never share attendees' phone numbers in photos or notes.

7. Save draft as you go
Hit 'Save draft' after every row — nothing is lost. The form auto-saves; you can come back any time on your day.

8. Submit before midnight your day
Once done, click 'Submit report'. The system marks you as 'SUBMITTED' and you get XP. Your report joins the national pool that PISA HQ will compile.

9. Flag urgent issues
Saw a real scam attempt in progress? Or a child-safety concern? Mark it in 'Support needed from PISA' — admin sees this within hours (not days).

10. FAQ
Q: Can my institute lead a day? — A: Yes, register the institute and an admin assigns a task to it. Q: Can I swap my date? — A: Within 48h notice, generally yes. Q: Can I do a co-lead? — A: Yes, ask admin to add a co-lead. Q: I lost my draft — A: DRAFT saves to the DB on every save, not just the final one.
