Scammers love urgency. You love tea. Take your time.
Criminals target seniors because they assume we are polite and worried. Your politeness is a strength — but never with money or codes.
Memorize these five lines:
- No bank, no NADRA, no pension office EVER calls to ask for codes, PINs, or fees. Ever. Full stop.
- "Your account/pension/CNIC will be blocked today" is always a lie. Real blocking comes by registered letter, never by panic call.
- The pause rule: Any caller wanting money or codes — say "I will call my son/daughter first" and HANG UP. Real institutions wait; only scammers rush you.
- Never approve pop-ups on your phone while talking to a caller. Those "requests" move money OUT.
- Save 1799 in your phone now. That is the government's cybercrime helpline (NCCIA). If in doubt, they will tell you honestly.
Teach-back: Tell one person today what you learned. Teaching it makes it stick — and protects them too.
